Radiological and Clinical Significance of Emergency Computerized Tomographic Examination

Abstract
|
|
|
The retrospective evaluation of 360 cases of emergency CT examination from January 1988 to October 1988, leads to following conclusions；
1. CT examination is very helpful for the diagnosis and treatment in emergency patient.
2. Part of emergency CT examination is almost brain CT (92％)
3. Most frequent cause of emergency CT examination was traffic accident(36％)
4. CT findings are hemorrhagic condition is 39％ and normal finding 32％. infarction 15％ other 14％.
5. Time interval between arriving emergency room and CT study are after 2 hours 46.4％, 1~2hours 29.4％ and within 30minutes 10％.
6. Referred department are almost Neurosurgical department 51.4％. and Neurological department 36.4％
7. Treatment after emergency CT examination are conservative Tx 38％, self discharge 29％, emergency operation 19％
